Polk Audio SDA (Stereo Dimensional Array) is a patented speaker technology designed to deliver a massive, lifelike soundstage by eliminating a natural listening issue called interaural crosstalk. When you listen to normal stereo speakers, your left ear hears the left speaker, but it also hears the right speaker a split second later. This extra sound tricks your brain and shrinks the audio field.
Polk SDA solves this by placing a second set of drivers—called a dimensional array—inside the cabinet. These extra drivers play a reversed signal that cancels out the unwanted crossing sound before it reaches your ears. This makes the speakers seemingly disappear, creating an ultra-wide soundstage that extends far past the physical cabinets.
